07.00 The alarm clock goes off. Where am I today? Lucca, Amsterdam, Milan, Zurich? No, of course, I’m in New York! It’s the first day of the New York Gift Fair today.

07.15 Help, I have to get up. Kristin will be waiting for me in the lobby at 08.00.

08.15 Off to the deli next door. Not our favourite place, but we’re in a hurry. We choose yoghurt with muesli, two tuna wraps, a cappuccino and a macchiato to take away. Breakfast and lunch in one go, because we won’t have time to buy lunch during the show.

08.45 We run to the booth. Just in time!

10.30 Mmm… Not that much visitor traffic. Maybe our expectations have been too high?

11.00 This is more like it! A lady adores our colour combinations. She loves the softness of the leather. And she instantly decides to buy 70 purses and wallets in the brightest colours.

13.00 Things are looking up. People have found us now! We’re glad we bought the tuna wraps.

14.30 A customer from a department store is completely taken by one of our new handbag designs and immediately orders 200 pieces as a corporate gift.

16.00 I’m really enjoying myself now. It’s great to talk to people about Mywalit and our products. I really think we’re getting the message across. People love it.

16.30 We’re on a roll! I show a lady how the magic wallet works using a ten dollar bill she lends me. She’s so impressed that she places a large order in all eight colour combinations.

18.00 Closing time. We definitely need a drink!

18.45 We’re on our way to Maremma in the West Village. This restaurant is owned by Cesare Casella who comes from Lucca and started this place 13 years ago.

19.00 This man knows what two tired women need. Una coppa di prosecco, anche due!

20.00 Kristin’s brother and some friends who are at New York Fashion week join us for dinner. What fantastic food! Even better than in Lucca itself!
