2005: Chris Howell founds mywalit in Lucca, Tuscany with a line of charismatic wallets combining practical features with bright, unusual colours. He asks his friend and business partner in Thailand to produce them - and the elephant, a Thai national symbol, became Mywalit's logo as a tribute to the country and its craftspeople.
2006: The first mywalit store opens in Piazza Anfiteatro in Lucca. Within six months mywalit is selling its creations to other retailers and the business is growing fast!
2008: The first mywalit handbag collection is launched: a range of fun yet practical Travel bags. It remains one of our most popular collections to date!
2009: Offices in the USA are opened. Mywalit continues to expand across the world.
2009: Mywalit boutiques expand to include Pisa Airport and Via dell Condotta in Florence.
2009-2010: Mywalit’s colourful creations begin to be sold in major department stores and museums, such as Galeries Lafayette in France, MoMA in New York & the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo.
2010: A second mywalit store in Lucca opens on the main shopping street, Via Fillungo.
2015: Mywalit celebrates its 10th anniversary in style.. and with lots of colour!
2017: Mywalit collaborates with "Bambini delle Fate", a nonprofit organization who fund projects for children with autism and disabilities, through charities, institutions and hospital structures.
Mywalit is a truly international company. In the main office in Lucca, conversations are held in a mix of different languages. Mywalit people are from a variety of countries and backgrounds, bringing different skills, interests and experiences to enrich and colour the team!
